DETAILS AND CARE

Soursop Tree in 7-Gallon Pot available in Jupiter, FL.

Tropical, medicinal, and richly flavorful—the Soursop Tree (Annona muricata), also known as Graviola, is a superstar in both the culinary and wellness worlds. In a 7-gallon pot, this lush, broad-leafed tree is ready to thrive in your South Florida garden, offering exotic fruit and beautiful form with the right care.

Soursop produces large, spiky green fruit with creamy white pulp and a flavor that’s a delicious fusion of pineapple, mango, and citrusy custard. It’s a must-grow for tropical fruit lovers and herbal remedy enthusiasts alike.

Care & Growing Info (Optimized for South Florida):

  • Sunlight: Requires full sun—6 to 8 hours daily. Plant in a bright, warm location for the best growth and fruit production.

  • Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Soursop trees are not drought-tolerant and may drop leaves if allowed to dry out.

  • Soil: Prefers well-drained, loamy or sandy soil, slightly acidic to neutral. Add compost or organic matter to enhance fertility.

  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced organic fertilizer 3–4 times a year. Supplement with micronutrients like magnesium and iron for strong foliage and fruit quality.

  • Growth Habit: Broad-leaved, tropical evergreen tree. In a 7-gallon pot, trees are usually 3–5 feet tall and will grow 15–30 feet tall and wide in the ground.

  • Temperature: Ideal for USDA Zones 10–11. Sensitive to cold—protect from temperatures below 40°F. Best suited for protected spots or container growing in colder microclimates.

  • Maintenance: Moderate. Prune lightly to shape and manage airflow. Mulch helps retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Fruit Notes: Produces large, heart-shaped fruit with soft spines. Flesh is white, creamy, aromatic, and loaded with nutrients and antioxidants. Harvested when slightly soft to the touch—typically ripens summer through early fall.

Ideal For:
