DETAILS AND CARE
Rosemary (4” or 5" Starter Pot)
Available in Jupiter, FL. at Urban Abundance.
Add timeless flavor and low-maintenance elegance to your garden with our Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) starter. This fragrant Mediterranean herb belongs to the Lamiaceae family (the mint family) and is classified as a culinary herb and evergreen perennial—meaning it retains its green leaves year-round and returns season after season with proper care.
Rosemary is a structural beauty for raised beds and containers. It prefers well-draining soil—sandy or loamy is ideal—and thrives in full sun (6–8 hours daily). In South Florida’s humid climate, rosemary does best with excellent airflow and in elevated beds or containers to prevent soggy soil and root rot. It’s drought-tolerant once established, so water deeply but infrequently.
Harvest once the plant reaches 6–8 inches tall. Clip sprigs as needed, leaving enough growth to maintain vigor. Regular light pruning encourages fuller, bushier growth and prevents woody stems.
Pest issues are rare, but watch for spider mites or aphids during dry spells. A simple neem oil spray or a firm blast of water is usually enough to keep pests at bay.

-
Avoid overwatering—this herb thrives in drier conditions
-

-
