PPC Atemoya Tree in 7-Gallon Pot Available in Jupiter, FL

The PPC Atemoya (Annona × atemoya ‘PPC’) is a premium tropical fruit tree prized for its exceptionally sweet, creamy, custard-like flesh and rich, complex flavor. A hybrid of sugar apple and cherimoya, PPC is known for producing high-quality fruit with minimal fiber and a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Well-adapted to South Florida’s climate, this grafted PPC Atemoya is both productive and manageable, making it an excellent addition to backyard orchards, food forests, and edible landscapes. In a 7-gallon pot, this tree is well-established and on its way to producing delicious fruit within a few seasons.

Care & Growing Info (Optimized for South Florida):

Sunlight: Full sun to light partial sun—6 to 8 hours daily for best flowering and fruit production.

Watering: Moderate. Water deeply when the top 2–3 inches of soil dry out. Maintain consistent moisture during flowering and fruit development, but avoid waterlogged soil.

Soil: Well-draining sandy or loamy soil enriched with compost. Atemoya prefers fertile soil with good drainage and benefits from mulching.

Fertilizer: Apply a balanced fruit tree fertilizer 3–4 times per year. Supplement with micronutrients such as magnesium and iron for optimal growth in sandy soils.

Growth Habit: Small to medium-sized tree with an open, spreading canopy. Typically reaches 10–15 feet in South Florida but can be kept smaller with pruning. In a 7-gallon pot, trees are approximately 3–5 feet tall.

Temperature: USDA Zones 10–11. Thrives in warm, subtropical climates. Protect from temperatures below 32°F, especially when young.

Maintenance: Moderate. Light pruning helps shape the tree and improve airflow. Hand pollination can significantly improve fruit set and size.

Harvest & Seasonality:

Planting Time: Best planted spring through early fall in South Florida.

Harvest Time: Typically late summer through fall.

How to Harvest: Harvest when fruit begins to soften slightly and lightens in color. Allow fruit to fully ripen at room temperature for best flavor and texture.

Fruit Characteristics: Medium to large, heart-shaped fruit with green, bumpy skin. Flesh is creamy, white, and nearly fiberless with a rich, sweet flavor reminiscent of vanilla custard with tropical notes.

Medicinal & Nutritional Benefits:

Atemoya is rich in Vitamin C, fiber, potassium, and antioxidants. It supports immune health, digestion, and overall vitality while offering a naturally sweet, nutrient-dense treat.
