DETAILS AND CARE
Moringa Tree in 25-Gallon Pot available in Jupiter, FL.
Nutrient-packed, fast-growing, and deeply regenerative—the Moringa Tree (Moringa oleifera), also known as the “Miracle Tree,” is a powerhouse addition to any South Florida garden. Grown in a 25-gallon pot, this mature specimen is ready to deliver fast leaf production, edible pods, and beautiful, bee-friendly blooms. Every part of this tree—from its leaves to its seeds—is prized for its nutritional, medicinal, and soil-enhancing properties.
With its elegant, feathery foliage and resilience in heat and drought, Moringa thrives in our subtropical climate and offers abundance from root to crown.
Care & Growing Info (Optimized for South Florida):
-
Sunlight: Requires full sun—at least 6–8 hours daily—for rapid growth and nutrient-dense leaf production.
-
Watering: Water regularly during establishment, then reduce once the tree is growing vigorously. Moringa is highly drought-tolerant once mature.
-
Soil: Grows well in well-drained, sandy or loamy soil. Does not tolerate waterlogged roots. Compost and mulch help improve growth but aren’t required for success.
-
Fertilizer: Light feeders—an occasional application of compost or balanced fertilizer supports growth, but not much is needed thanks to Moringa’s adaptability.
-
Growth Habit: Fast-growing, open-branched tree with soft, light-green leaves and white fragrant flowers. In a 25-gallon pot, expect a height of 6–10 feet, depending on pruning and conditions.
-
Temperature: Best for USDA Zones 9B–11. Loves South Florida’s heat and humidity. May die back in cold snaps but rebounds quickly from roots.
-
Maintenance: Very low. Regular pruning encourages bushier growth and easier harvesting. Moringa responds well to being cut back ("chopped and dropped") for mulch or soil regeneration.
Edible & Medicinal Uses:
-
Leaves: High in iron, calcium, and protein—used fresh, dried, or powdered.
-
Pods: Often called “drumsticks,” these are edible when young and tender.
-
Flowers & Seeds: Edible and medicinal, with seeds used for water purification and oil production.
