DETAILS AND CARE

Jacaranda Tree in 45-Gallon Pot available in Jupiter, FL.

Graceful, luminous, and downright magical—the Jacaranda Tree (Jacaranda mimosifolia) in a 45-gallon pot is a true showstopper. With its fern-like foliage and spectacular lavender-blue blooms that blanket the canopy each spring, this tree transforms any South Florida landscape into a dreamscape of soft color and shade.

Highly prized for both its ornamental value and airy structure, the Jacaranda in this large 45-gallon size arrives already mature and ready to make a statement in spacious gardens, along streetscapes, or as a blooming anchor in a tropical yard.

Care & Growing Info (Optimized for South Florida):

  • Sunlight: Requires full sun—at least 6–8 hours daily—to encourage heavy flowering and strong, upright growth. The more sun, the more blooms.

  • Watering: Water regularly during the first year to establish roots. Once established, the Jacaranda is moderately drought-tolerant, though it will benefit from occasional deep watering during dry spells.

  • Soil: Prefers well-drained, sandy or loamy soil. Performs well in South Florida’s native soils, as long as drainage is adequate.

  • Fertilizer: Feed with a low-nitrogen fertilizer in late winter to promote blooms over leaf growth. Avoid excessive feeding which may delay or reduce flowering.

  • Growth Habit: Upright and spreading with a wide canopy and soft, feathery leaves. In a 45-gallon pot, this specimen stands about 7–9 feet tall and is landscape-ready.

  • Temperature: Ideal for USDA Zones 10–11. Well suited to South Florida’s warmth. While Jacarandas can tolerate brief cool snaps, young trees may need frost protection.

  • Maintenance: Moderate. Prune after blooming to shape and maintain structure. Some leaf and flower drop is natural and adds seasonal charm to the landscape.

Ideal For:

  • Flower-forward tropical gardens

  • Street trees or large estate driveways

  • Focal points in wide garden beds or lawns

  • Shade with seasonal color

  • Elegant landscape designs with soft textures
