DETAILS AND CARE

Flamingo Lily (Anthurium) in 7-Gallon Pot available in Jupiter, FL

Striking, sculptural, and always in bloom—Flamingo Lily (Anthurium andraeanum) brings a pop of tropical elegance to any South Florida garden or patio. With its glossy heart-shaped leaves and long-lasting, waxy flowers in shades of red, pink, or white, this tropical favorite is as ornamental as it is easy to grow. Perfect for shaded landscapes, lanais, or large planters, this 7-gallon pot offers an established plant that’s ready to impress.

It’s bold, low-maintenance, and designed to thrive in South Florida’s humidity and warmth.

Care & Growing Info (Optimized for South Florida):

  • Sunlight: Bright, indirect light or filtered shade. Avoid full sun, which can scorch the leaves. Excellent for covered patios or under trees.

  • Watering: Moderate. Keep soil consistently moist but never soggy. Allow the top inch to dry between waterings.

  • Soil: Light, airy mix with peat, pine bark, and perlite or orchid mix for drainage and breathability.

  • Fertilizer: Feed monthly during warm seasons with a balanced, diluted orchid or bloom booster fertilizer.

  • Growth Habit: Upright, clumping tropical with thick, shiny leaves and bright floral spathes. Can reach 2–3 feet tall in a 7-gallon container.

  • Temperature: Best in USDA Zones 10–11. Loves South Florida’s tropical climate—sensitive to temps under 50°F.

  • Maintenance: Low. Wipe leaves occasionally to keep them dust-free. Remove faded flowers and old leaves to encourage new growth.

Foliage & Flower Notes:
Broad, heart-shaped leaves with a leathery sheen and colorful spathes that resemble flowers (actually modified leaves). True flowers are tiny on the central spadix.

Medicinal & Nutritional Benefits:
